Nozzle Station Programming - YY1
The YY1 machine allows you to utilize two nozzles during machine operation. In order to use more than two nozzles for components of various sizes, you will need to perform the Nozzle Station Calibration process.
Nozzle Station: Checklist for Success
In order for your machine to change nozzles, the placement head must be properly aligned with the nozzle exchange station. Follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth process during machine operation.
- Positioning: When moving the placement head over to the nozzle station, ensure the nozzle is centered directly over the screw located between station 1 and station 2.
- Avoid: When positioning the nozzle, do not lower the nozzle too far. Avoid crashing into the screw by lowering the nozzle until it is just above the screw and not touching.
- Gentle Contact: Be sure to place movement on slow when lowering the nozzle down to ensure it does not hit any obstacles.
Calibration: Steps for Success
When using more than two nozzles during machine operation, the placement head will need to determine the location of the Nozzle Station to perform the nozzle exchange process. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth process.
- Access: Enter the Manual Test page from the home screen
- Positioning Placement Head: First, insert a nozzle into the placement head by pushing the nozzle up into place. Using the placement head arrows, move the head to the nozzle station and position it above the screw top located between stations 1 and 2.
- Lowering the Nozzle: Using the Up and Down buttons within the Head 1 box, carefully lower the nozzle until it is directly above the top of the screw. Place movement on slow and make minor adjustments to center the head just above the screw until it is almost touching.
- Documenting the Coordinates: On the top right of the Manual Test page, you will find the "Logical Coordinates." Document these X-Y coordinates.
- Implement Coordinates: Exit the Manual Test page and then enter the Parameters page. Input the X-Y coordinates under "Nozzle Station" (X-Y).
By following these steps, your YY1 machine will be ready to recognize the location of the Nozzle Station when performing a nozzle exchange.
